Thankful 2024

Well it's long past due...

I've really struggled to see the bright side this holiday season and as a result I'm a month and a half late in writing this.

The first thing I have to be thankful for is my health. The years have been slipping by and I'm at an age now where I see friends pass on, suffering major health set backs and face serious medical issues. The last year and a bit has seen several friends pass and it's really underscored how much I have to be thankful for. Although I'm still obese, I'm healthier than I have been in some time. I shed a lot of weight in 2023 and have managed to keep it off this last year while also growing my muscle mass. I'm not yet where I want to be, I certainly want to get down below obese but I'm getting closer.

While we're talking about the more basic things per Laszlo's Hierarchy of Needs: the roof over our heads. Our home remodel has completed, for the most part. We've moved in and are now settled and comfortable than were have been in many years. This place is starting to feel like home.

To be honest, I am sure there are many more things I have to call out. Job, friends, family but the struggle is still there in focusing on the bright side so I'm going to leave it on these two big items and acknowledge just how important they both are.
